Job Summary:
Blytheville Public Schools is seeking a passionate and versatile 12th Grade ELA Teacher who will also teach Chemistry part-time. This role requires a dynamic educator with strong literacy instruction expertise and foundational science teaching abilities. The ideal candidate will be confident in teaching high-level literature, writing, and communication while also guiding students through core chemistry concepts in a collaborative and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Teach 12th Grade English Language Arts, including literature, writing, analysis, and communication skills.
Deliver part-time instruction in Chemistry, ensuring student comprehension of core scientific concepts and safety practices.
Design engaging lesson plans that integrate leadership, technology, and communication skills.
Support student development in both critical thinking and scientific literacy.
Differentiate instruction to meet a diverse range of learning styles and abilities.
Foster an inclusive and academically rigorous classroom environment.
Use assessments and student data to guide instruction and provide timely feedback.
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support student growth and curriculum alignment.
Maintain regular communication with families, staff, and administration.
Contribute to school-wide initiatives and uphold the mission and goals of Blytheville Public Schools.
Qualifications:
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or content-related field from an accredited college or university.
Licensure: Valid Arkansas Teaching Certificate or ability to obtain one with appropriate endorsement(s) in English Language Arts and Science (or be working toward additional licensure).
Strong commitment to the philosophy that every student can achieve.
Excellent attendance record and communication skills, both oral and written.
Proficiency in best instructional practices in both humanities and science disciplines.
Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and support a diverse student population.
Documentation of effective teaching experience or student teaching in relevant subject areas.
Willingness to uphold the professional and ethical standards of the State Board of Education.
Eagerness to participate in professional development and maintain current instructional knowledge.
