Position Overview:
25 hours a week 6:45am-8:45am then back 3:00pm-5:30pm
Petra hours when needed :
Will need to be available for vacation weeks from 8:00am-4:30pm
Will need to be available for half days 11:00am-5:30pm

We are seeking a passionate, responsible, and experienced Childcare Director to oversee our Before and After School Program( located at the Bowdoinham Community School).The ideal candidate will create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for school-aged children while managing staff, scheduling activities, and ensuring program compliance with licensing and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Hire, train, and supervise staff and volunteers
Plan and implement age-appropriate educational and recreational activities
Maintain communication with parents, school personnel, and community partners
Ensure compliance with all state childcare regulations and licensing requirements
Manage program budget, supplies, and attendance records
Provide a safe and positive environment that supports child development
Supervising day-to-day operations of the program.
Handle any disciplinary or behavioral issues in a professional manner
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of School age direct care.
Previous experience in a childcare or educational setting
Leadership or management experience preferred
CPR/First Aid certification (or obtain with in 30 days of hire)
Background check ( prior to starting)
MRTQ registry ( first week of work)
MRTQ Health and Safety Training(first week of work )
Mandated Report Training ( prior to working)
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with child development best practices
Creative planning and curriculum development
Experience with school-age programming
