Are you interested in a career working with kids? Pro Active Behavioral Health is looking for enthusiastic, career-minded individuals to provide behavioral interventions to students with hearing and vision disabilities. This position provides services in an academic and community setting. Applicants must be able to successfully complete a criminal history background check, as well as a pre-employment drug test.
Under the supervision of an Intervention Specialist or Special Ed Teacher, provides behavioral interventions to individuals diagnosed with hearing and vision loss in accordance with their Individual Education Plan (IEP) both in a Resource Room setting and in the regular classroom when appropriate. Positions available in Richfield, Bliss, Jerome, Castleford, Twin Falls and Minidoka.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Educational Requirements
Two years of college OR 32 credits OR
Associates degree OR
Meet or exceed minimum score on Praxis Exam for the Para Pro Assessment
Past successful experience working with school-age children
Job Duties
Display a positive attitude toward school/special education programs and show respect for leadership and programming decisions made by supervisors.
Maintain and protect all participant records in accordance with State and Federal privacy laws and HIPAA regulations.
Supervise and manage student behavior in a variety of school settings.
Use appropriate reinforcement strategies in a manner indicating an empathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities.
Participate in special education staff meetings, appropriate in-service training, and other professional development activities as requested.
Work with students, staff, and others in a positive, encouraging manner.
