Position reports to the Design Manager, however may receive instructions from Engineers, Project Managers and Drafting Manager
Job Description
Prepare accurate, detailed drawing packages and complete bills of material for Cooling Tower Projects. Drawing Packages include Structural frames, Distribution systems, Mechanical system, Internals and Access means. Drawing Packages are defined as Arrangements, Installations & Fabrication drawings complete with full bills of material.
Technical Responsibilities:
1. Use computer-aided drafting equipment and proprietary design software, Microsoft Office applications, technical handbooks, tables, calculators, and traditional drafting tools such as scales, pencils, protractors, and T-squares.
2. Confer with engineering staff and other personnel to resolve problems.
3. Draft working drawings, diagrams, specifications or cross-sections of Cooling Tower components, as required for instructions to installation crew.
4. Draw master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specifications and dimensions.
5. Measure factors that affect installation and arrangement of equipment, such as distances to avoid interferences.
6. Assemble documentation packages and produce drawing sets which are then checked within the Drafting department and / or department management.
7. Review completed construction drawings and cost estimates for accuracy and conformity to standards and specifications.
8. Interpret specifications, calculating quantities and volumes.
9. Explain drawings to production or construction teams and provide adjustments as necessary.
10. Supervise and train other technicians, and drafters.
11. Other duties as required
Education
Positions require training in vocational schools, related on-the-job experience, or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Workforce Preparation
Usually need one or two years of training involving both on-the-job experience and informal training with experienced workers.
Work Experience
Previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required for these positions.
Salary $25 to $36 per hour Depending on Experience
