Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) - Visionary Sales Leader Wanted
Location: Denver, CO (In-Person)
Salary: $180,000-$230,000 + Benefits
Are you a superstar executive with a proven track record of building and leading elite sales teams, driving scalable revenue systems, and dominating in competitive markets? We're seeking a Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) who understands the complexity of CPG and wholesale distribution, excels at retail merchandising, and knows how to turn vision into measurable outcomes.
This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role-one of the top four executives responsible for scaling our fast-growing wholesale distribution business across multiple retail verticals including Cannabis, CPG, Tobacco, Convenience, and Grocery.
We need a builder and a doer-someone who understands slotting programs, endcap strategies, planogram compliance, and how to assist our retail customers in improving category performance through AI tools and incentive programs like spiffs.
Key Areas of Ownership
Sales & Account Management
Transform order takers into elite consultative sellers.
Lead the team in catego ry sell-through, AI-driven insights, and customer-first performance.
Drive spiff programs, category captainships, and vendor-led growth incentives.
Wholesale Distribution & Retail Execution
Own all aspects of retail merchandising, from slotting fee negotiations and planogram development to endcap placement across cannabis and general retail.
Partner with customers to increase their category sales-bringing them data, strategy, and results.
Marketing & Ecommerce
Use CRM and AI-powered platforms to target, convert, and retain key accounts.
Align marketing and sales efforts to create pipeline velocity and customer stickiness.
Customer Experience & Retention
Simplify every touchpoint-from onboarding to reorder-with systems and automation.
Build a reputation as the easiest and smartest wholesale partner in our verticals.
What You'll Do
Lead and unify Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience, and Digital Commerce.
Elevate and manage both Account Managers and Sales Reps, ensuring pipelines are full and close rates are high.
Overhaul underperforming teams and instill a culture of urgency, accountability, and results.
Build playbooks that include in-store execution, trade marketing, and category-specific sales strategies powered by AI and frontline data.
Execute national growth across channels-Cannabis, Convenience, Grocery, Alcohol, Tobacco, and Food Service.
Sit in the seat as our executive deal-closer: negotiating vendor agreements, slotting fees, distributor contracts, and enterprise partnerships.
Integrate ERP, CRM, and sales automation tools to enable scalable revenue generation.
Build succession plans, mentor rising leaders, and recruit next-gen sales talent.
Required Qualifications
15+ years leading revenue organizations in CPG, Wholesale Distribution, or high-growth, competitive B2B verticals.
Proven success managing Sales Reps and Account Managers across retail segments.
Deep understanding of planograms, slotting, endcaps, trade marketing, and vendor incentive programs.
Strong analytical mindset with experience implementing AI-powered sales and category management tools.
Hands-on experience negotiating with national distributors (McLane, Core-Mark, UNFI, etc.).
Excellent communicator, strategic thinker, and deal-closer.
Preferred
Cannabis or alternative trade experience highly preferred.
Master's degree or equivalent in Business, Sales, or related field.
History of scaling revenue from $50M to $100M+ and increasing margins through improved execution.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $180,000 - $230,000 (commensurate with experience)
