A health services organization in California is looking to add several new Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to their growing team. In this role, the DSP will be responsible for providing hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), helping them with daily living activities, personal care, and participation in community-based programs.
About the Opportunity:
Start Date: ASAP
Assignment Length: Ongoing
Shift: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm (on-duty meal break)
Responsibilities:
Assist individuals with toileting, hygiene, eating, mobility, and other daily living activities
Implement functional living skills based on each person's Individual Service Plan (ISP)
Engage participants in structured activities such as art, gardening, sensory play, and computer classes
Support communication goals using assistive devices and techniques
Assist with mobility programs and adaptive equipment
Maintain accurate documentation of behaviors, activities, and care
Participate in off-site outings and community integration
Follow infection control, safety, and emergency procedures
Collaborate with nursing and supervisory staff to ensure quality care
Qualifications:
High school Diploma / GED
First Aid certification
Strong communication skills
Comfortable with hygiene-related responsibilities
