ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to communicate is perhaps the most important skill that a supervisor requires. You need to transmit information and instructions in a clear and effective manner to people who may not understand due to experience or educational differences. Ensuring that the person you are talking to fully understands what you are saying is a vital skill.
Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools of the electrical trade.
Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work and demonstrable commitment to safety.
Ability to supervise the work of skilled workers.
Considerable knowledge of the National Electrical Code for electrical installations.
Ability to interpret and work from instructions, penciled plans and sketches, submittals, and blue prints.
Ability to estimate sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining labor, time, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.

MINIMUM / PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Flexibility, able to adapt and comply with Company/Client requirements.
Foremen are responsible for planning, scheduling, assigning, participating in, and inspecting the work of electricians and apprentices.
Order or requisition materials, equipment or supplies.
Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms.
Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, or company policies. Identify the developmental needs of others and coach, mentor, or otherwise help others to improve their knowledge or skills
Read specifications, blueprints, and submittal data to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures. Interpret the meaning of this information for others by translating or explaining what the information means and how it can be used.
Confer with project manager & estimators, or other contractors to resolve problems or to coordinate activities.
Estimate material or worker requirements to complete jobs.
Conduct periodic inspections of each person's work to verify safety and ensure that all codes and specifications are being met.
Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work. while getting members of your team to work together to accomplish tasks by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
