Description
An experienced and motivated Site Superintendent is needed to join a knowledgeable, high-performing, and supportive team at a solar engineering, procurement, and construction provider headquarters in Massachusetts. This is a fantastic opportunity for career growth within a growing, collaborative company that specializes in commercial solar projects, including distributed generation ground mount trackers.
The Site Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all on-site civil, mechanical, and electrical work for commercial solar installations working in parallel with our in-house electrical construction team. This includes managing crews and subcontractors, coordinating with project managers, and ensuring work is completed on schedule, within scope, and according to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate has a general construction and electrical work background, strong leadership skills, and a hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset.
Responsibilities
_Safety Management_
o Ensure all safety protocols are followed in accordance with OSHA and company policies.
o Conduct regular safety walks and site inspections.
o Investigate and document any on-site accidents or injuries and implement corrective actions.
_Supervision and Coordination_
o Supervise and coordinate daily work activities of technicians and subcontractors.
o Manage installation of racking, modules, electrical systems, equipment pads, fencing, and final site stabilization.
o Support project managers in work planning and scheduling.
_Quality Control_
o Perform quality assessments of work completed.
o Ensure all construction procedures and industry standards are followed.
_Data Management_
o Collect and manage on-site data including safety logs, and daily activity reports.
o Process work orders and prepare daily and weekly summary reports.
_Communication_
o Maintain clear and consistent communication with project managers and company leadership.
o Provide regular updates on site progress, issues, and milestones.
_Training and Development_
o Provide training, guidance, and support to crew members.
o Set performance standards and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
General Duties:
o Attend and contribute to site management meetings.
o Track material orders and coordinate deliveries.
o Manage SWPPP compliance and other environmental requirements.
o Maintain a safe, productive, and respectful work environment.
o Troubleshoot site issues as they arise, ensuring timely resolution.
_Requirements_
o Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
o 3+ years of experience in construction supervision, preferably in PV projects or electrical trades.
o Experience managing subcontractors and construction schedules.
o Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
o Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
o Familiarity with safety and quality standards (OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred).
o Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
o Proficiency with construction documentation and reporting tools. Procore proficiency preferred.
o CSL (Construction Supervisor License) preferred.
o Ability to read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications.
Additional Information:
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35.00 - $48.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 40+ per week
Schedule :
o Day shift
o Monday to Friday. Weekend work as required by project schedules.
Location: On-site work required
