Job Description:
Power ABA is seeking a Human Resources and Recruiting Coordinator to support the daily operations of our HR department. This fully on-site role in Lakewood, NJ plays a critical part in ensuring HR compliance, supporting employee lifecycle processes, and maintaining a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills. You will work cross-functionally with team members and managers to deliver a high-quality HR experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Onboarding & Setup
Coordinate the full-cycle onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
Collect, review, and process all new hire documentation, including contracts, tax forms, background checks, and credentialing paperwork.
Accurately enter employee information into HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems.
Conduct orientations and training sessions on company policies, procedures, and benefits.
Collaborate with department managers to ensure proper onboarding and training.

Timekeeping & Payroll Support
Review employee timecards for accuracy and policy compliance.
Work with supervisors and payroll team to address timekeeping discrepancies.
Support payroll processing by validating work hours, overtime, and leave balances.
Maintain accurate records of attendance and absences.

PTO, Sick Days & Leave Management
Process PTO, sick leave, and other time-off requests according to company policy.
Track and report leave balances to employees as needed.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state leave laws (FMLA, ADA, etc.).
Guide employees regarding leave policies and procedures.

Unemployment Claims Processing
Respond to unemployment claims with accurate and timely information.
Communicate with state agencies regarding employment status and termination history.
Represent the company in unemployment hearings if required.

Benefits Administration
Assist employees with benefits enrollment and changes.
Answer employee questions regarding health insurance, retirement, and other benefits.
Coordinate with benefits providers to resolve inquiries and issues.
Help facilitate open enrollment and ongoing benefits support.

HR Compliance & Employee Support
Maintain employee records in compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
Support employees by providing accurate and timely HR information.
Monitor adherence to employment laws, including EEOC, FLSA, and HIPAA.
Conduct file audits to ensure completeness and confidentiality.
Assist in reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures as the company grows.

Required Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an HR or administrative support role
Strong understanding of HR fundamentals, including onboarding, benefits, timekeeping, and compliance
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and HRIS/payroll systems
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work fully on-site in Lakewood, NJ

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
Experience working in a healthcare or behavioral health setting
Familiarity with federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEOC, etc.)
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus

Pay: $52,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
