Job Summary:

The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department for a fast paced cannabis industry business including maintaining employee files, talent acquisition, administering benefits, compliance with labor laws, and enforcing company policies and practices. This role requires a proactive and adaptable individual who is passionate about contributing to the success of the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments.
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and HR databases.
Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries, serving as a liaison between employees and benefit providers.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
At least two years of human resource management experience preferred.
SHRM-CP a plus.
Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues without detailed instruction or procedural guidance.
Skilled in project management, planning, organizing and prioritizing work assignments to manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 per year
