EthosEnergy seeks multiple Lead OMT Operators to join our Colorado Bend Power Plant team located in Wharton, Texas. This position is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the power facility while assigned on shift. Duties include, operate, maintain, troubleshoot a variety of mechanical equipment, electrical equipment and instrumentation. This equipment includes, but is not limited to the gas turbine, steam turbine, generators, heat recovery steam generator, air compressors, water treatment equipment, motors, pumps, diesel generators, and other auxiliary equipment. Success in the role requires strict adherence to all safety and environmental rules and regulations to protect employees and public safety. The LOMT reports to the Operations Manager and must cooperate with and respond to directions from the Operations Manager. This position gives direction to maintenance personnel such as CRO's and OMT's on matters pertaining to plant operations.
Job Responsibilities
Competently coordinate the operational and maintenance activities performed on shift without oversight. This position requires directing other staff members as assigned to perform every day operational and maintenance activities.
Competently operates and maintains a combined cycle generating facility and all associated auxiliary and support equipment with minimal guidance or assistance. This position requires making operating decisions based on plant procedures, environmental regulations, safety procedures, and using good judgment based on operating data.
Proficient at operating the plant via a remote distributed control system (DCS). Periodically, equipment may need to be operated locally via PLC panel interfaces.
Communicates plant issues and keeps Operations Manager and/or Plant Manager fully informed of unusual conditions, damaged equipment, and current job progress as the job relates to facility operations. This also applies when performing maintenance when either on or off shift.
Provides detailed status of plant conditions to fellow LMOT's at shift turnover.
Perform water chemistry analysis on HRSG, auxiliary boiler, and other systems. Ensure water chemistry is within proper control ranges. Make adjustments to water chemistry, as needed, by controlling chemical feed and/or blowdown rates. Work with Auxiliary Operators and water treatment vendor to properly monitor overall chemistry program.
Operates RO system in accordance with OEM and plant procedures and monitor demineralized water to ensure quality is within acceptable limits.
Fully supports the use of a computerized maintenance management system by displaying a proficiency in using the system, entering data consistent with fellow employees and dedication to the facility maintenance philosophy.
Thoroughly records equipment problems on CMMS work requests and documents maintenance actions taken on work order forms.
Handles corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance work orders in a timely and high-quality manner.
Shows diligence in documenting spare parts usage and re-ordering.
Maintains equipment by tightening fittings, replacing valve packing, gaskets, valves, gauges, etc. and cleaning, replacing, oiling and lubricating other component parts and equipment as required.
Opens and closes valves as required for proper system operation and mechanical isolation.
Opens and closes circuit breakers as required for proper system operation and electrical isolation.
Performs capital project and/or major program responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Managers.
Prepare orders of operational consumables, lab supplies and chemicals for Operation Manager approval.
Participate in Maintenance Planning meetings as operations representative.
Coordinate daily safety processes for contractors and site employees. Act as the single point of contact for emergency response actions when on duty.
Plan and facilitate "plan of the day" meetings and daily safety moment.
Responsible for daily reporting of plant performance and GADS requirements.
Diagnoses cause of mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment.
Assist in troubleshooting and inspecting programmable logic controllers, distributive control systems including control card replacement and wiring terminations.
Identify and resolve CEMS problems. Assist in performing calibrations and gas bottle change outs.
Reads, understands and complies with all regulatory procedures and facility safety programs. Follow all plant environmental permits.
Must be able to update and create operation and maintenance procedures.
Work shift hours, overtime, and irregular hours as needed to support reliable operation of the facility. From time to time the working hours will be determined on short notice based on plant requirements.
Liaise with the Energy Manager as required.
Required Skills / Knowledge
Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high school is required. An associate degree in a technical field is desirable.
Experience in water chemistry control, water condition analysis, water treatment facility operations and chemical handling requirements is desired.
Theoretical and practical knowledge of combustion/steam turbine operations closed system generation, industrial safety, hazardous waste management and inspection/recording of plant parameters is highly desirable.
Demonstrated experience in the direct operation of a combined cycle large frame gas turbine power plant preferred.
Experience with piping and instrument schematics and process controls desirable.
Extensive working knowledge of power plant industry desirable.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Experience
REQUIRED:
At least 3 years' experience as a Control Room Operator or equivalent position in an operating or generating plant STRONGLY PREFERRED:
Maximo CMMS, GE 7EA, GE 6B
Combined Cycle Power Plant experience
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent. HIGHLY PREFERRED:
Associates or better in Power Plant Technology or related field.
Physical Requirements
Physical requirements include standing on feet for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, air purifying respirators, hearing protection and others must be worn in the performance of some duties. Work with hazardous materials may be required.
This position requires working twelve hour rotating shifts with the possibility of overtime, weekend and holiday work as required by schedules, work load, call outs and plant conditions.
All personnel will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening.
