We are hiring a pit master at East of Texas - we're looking for someone with butcher & prep chef experience & experience using a wood fired smoker! We are a Tex-Mex BBQ restaurant located in downtown Winston-Salem. We serve smoked brisket, pork, chicken, and other proteins in house. This position would assist with smoker maintenance, the meat cooking schedule, help with meat prep & restaurant prep needs, and assist with other kitchen operations.
Requirements:
- able to stand for entire shift - 8+ hours
- skilled with using knives
- at least 1 year of butcher experience
- able to lift up to 50 lbs, if needed
East of Texas is open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Butchering & prep work is conducted throughout the day all week long. Some shifts may start at 4 AM. Weekend availability is required (Friday, Saturday & Sunday)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
