OVERVIEW:

Construction project management and owners representation firm is seeking a motivated individual for a full-time project engineer/assistant project manager position in our Los Angeles, CA office. You will report to and assist Project Managers.

Position requires that candidate be willing to work from job sites, our local office, and at times complete 1-3 day trips to service out of town projects. All candidates must have good self-discipline as work hours and day-to-day tasks may vary.

Our focus is representing the owners of construction projects. We take years of construction and engineering experience and apply our knowledge by assisting owners of commercial and multi-family projects. We help with project scoping, design review, estimating, contractor oversight, bidding, contract-administration, field observations & reporting, and general project management services.

Candidates will be responsible for assisting our project managers with tasks spanning a broad spectrum covering all the areas of project management including:

Written Field Observation Reporting

Coordination of detailed cost estimates, schedules and associated project RFP's

Preparation of RFP's

Cost Management, Time Management, Quality Management

Contract Administration

Reporting Project Status

Documentation of Project Progress

Quality Control

Managing and updating our Budget

Managing and updating the Owners Budget

Managing the RFI Process

Managing the Submittal Process

Projects typically involve interacting with a team of outside engineering consultants and/or contractors to achieve the owners approved project scope, develop strategic sequencing and detailed milestone schedules, project-level cost tracking and reconciliation.

A successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.We seek a candidate that is detail oriented with good self-discipline.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum five years experience working in a contracting, construction management, architecture or engineering firm.
Must have excellent communication and writing skills.
Hands-on experience in the field is desirable but not required.
Reasonable understanding of construction and engineering fundamentals is essential.
Thorough knowledge of legal issues and safety standards is also desired.

SALARY:

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
