Job Description:
The Eugene Mission is a Christ-centered organization which shares Hope with hurting people. A R Navigator supports the overall success of the R (Rescue-Revitalize-Restore) Team. This team is responsible for stabilization of new guests, encouraging guests to take the next steps off the street with participation in the Eugene Mission's transformational programs, and for assessing the overall need of the guests of the Eugene Mission.
The R3 Navigator I supports the growth and the future development of guests, including self-sustaining growth towards employment, sustainable income, and stable housing. Provides comprehensive support, leadership, and assistance around guest programming in the areas of curriculum development, Life Skills, enrollment, assessment, and data tracking. Coordinates with Program Managers and program participants to maximize outcomes across identified metrics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

_Guest Services_
Explains R program to guests and community partners; discusses its rules, procedures, and participation requirements for further eligibility for Eugene Mission services (individually and groups).
Manages front desk and center responsibilities to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for a diverse population at various stages of crisis and recovery with volunteer and assigned guest support through hospitality, grounds and bed checks, and kind yet firm coaching of guest behaviors.
Coordinates new guest entry to the Rescue Center through daily intakes, agency referrals, and, if necessary, conducts a bed lottery and documents processes appropriately.
Explains the Rescue Center and transformational program to guests; discusses rules, procedures, and participation requirements for further ability to stay at Eugene Mission; assist guests with completing the proper paperwork and files as appropriate individually and in groups.
Orients guests to the Rescue Center; assigns bed, pajamas, and other resources as needed
Oversees the Baggage Room, safety and proper storage of guests' individual items, and distribution of personal items as needed to guests including hygiene products and clothing.
Supports food service in and for various centers; accompanies guests as needed and coordinates in-center food as appropriate with health, safety, and sanitation in mind.
Conducts daily store runs, exercise opportunities, and activities to engage Rescue Center guests.
Upon admission into the R3 Academy, coordinates guests' entry to the R3 dorms; orients guests to new spaces, policies, and procedures; finalizes guest profile in Mission Tracker; assigns initial Life Skill and communicates change in guests' status to R3 Team.
Meets with R program members in a timely manner to ascertain needs and growth areas.
Coordinates ongoing Life Skill placement, advancement, and certification as appropriate
Works with each assigned participant to determine priorities, goals, and objectives to develop a practical, working action plan addressing a participant's areas of impoverishment.
Identifies barriers to participation and collaborates with guest and R Teamon ways to eliminate the same without undercutting program effectiveness.
Assists and administers assessment tool for guest program participants.
Enrolls guests in program offerings, completing appropriate data entry for enrollment and production of program ID badge and lanyard, as appropriate.
Sets dates on which to periodically evaluate each guest's progress toward goals.
Utilizes Service Point and/or Mission Tracker software and other electronic recordkeeping to track progress and maintain accurate statistics
Makes referrals to the Eugene Mission Life Change Program or outside agency as appropriate.
Adheres to Eugene Mission policies and procedures.
Participates in on-call rotation and vacation coverage across the campus.
Handles 911 contact and non-emergency needs for guests as needed.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

_Coaching_
Supports all activities and daily operations of the R guest programs with Mission-wide application including - but not limited to - Life Skills, class and group participation, interpersonal skills, and individual responsibilities and goals.
Provides crisis management and interpersonal negotiation for the general guest population; and offers support to staff in difficult situations.
Participates with other staff in scheduled or spontaneous reviews of guests with challenging behaviors that impair the safety of the Mission environment.
Listens to guests and troubleshoots barriers to participation with guests and R Teamon ways to eliminate the same without undercutting program effectiveness or campus safety.
Attends, supports, and participates in assigned R3 and/or staff meetings and events.
Ensures compassionate yet professional programming in each facet of R to support participant growth in overall wellness as well as sound biblically based teaching where applicable.
Serves R participants by teaching program offerings and facilitating large and small group meetings

_Data and Communication_
Processes guests' UA's and alcohol swabs upon transition to R Academy and weekly random tests.
Communicates with management and team at shift changes so that all are informed of any situations that need attention. Log all critical incidentals and document shift rounds.
Completes all paperwork and data input for guest registration, check outs, transitions, and passes.
Updates logs, tracking software, and appropriate Excel spreadsheets to ensure accurate records.
Maintains accurate records, answer phones, and greets visitors.
Prepared to share their Hope in Jesus Christ and pray with guests who seek such engagement.

_Physical Requirements_
Reliably able to complete critical responsibilities within required time frames without fail.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
Must be able to sit for long periods of time at a computer.
Ability to walk, bend, stoop, and lift moderate weights (20 lbs.) on occasion.
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone and in person.

Education, Skills, and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Compassion for the hurting, a heart to serve the community, and willingness to be relational
Interest in long term, holistic solutions to poverty and homelessness one person at a time
Comfort level in working with a diverse population, including those with addiction, extensive trauma, criminal history, and mental health issues.
Mature interpersonal communication skills and an ease with de-escalation strategies
Demonstrates humility, honesty, integrity and servant-leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and exemplary ability to work well within a collaborative team environment with a diverse group of people.
Organizational and time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Public speaking experience a plus.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and ability to learn new systems quickly.
Experience with client service data bases, data analysis, reports, and logs. _(preferred)_
Associates Degree or 2 years of applicable experience. _(preferred)_
