As our client base continues to grow, we are seeking a Regional Development Manager (RDM) to foster long-term partnerships and build on our presence in our service area.
Position Summary
The Regional Development Manager will be responsible for strengthening customer retention, securing long-term service agreement renewals, and building loyalty across an assigned portfolio of accounts. In addition, the role will identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand Arrow's footprint within the territory. This position is ideal for a relationship-driven professional with an eye for long-term growth and account stability. The Regional Development Manager will report to the Director of Development, who is responsible for collaborating with all RDM's to ensure overall customer satisfaction and effective problem resolution.
Key Responsibilities
Retention & Relationship Management
Act as the primary point of contact for escalated customer issues requiring support beyond the scope of the Customer Success Manager, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction.
Conduct regular in-person check-ins with clients, particularly VIP accounts, to assess satisfaction and proactively address needs.
Develop customized retention strategies for high-value accounts.
Monitor service quality and coordinate with internal teams to ensure consistent execution.
Renewals & Contract Management
Lead the process for renewing service agreements before expiration.
Negotiate long-term contracts that align with customer needs and company goals.
Ensure all agreements are accurately documented and communicated internally.
Territory Growth
Identify and qualify new account opportunities within the assigned region.
Leverage existing relationships and referrals to grow Arrow's presence.
Oversee a smooth onboarding experience for new customers during the first 60 days, before transitioning accounts to a Customer Success Manager.
Operational & Administrative Support
Collaborate with the Service and Operations departments to fulfill customer requests and ensure timely, accurate deliveries.
Occasionally assist in product delivery to support service continuity when needed.
Maintain up-to-date records of all interactions, renewals, and leads using Microsoft Teams and internal systems.
Actively participate in monthly meetings with actionable feedback and follow-through on assigned initiatives.
Collections
Monitor and support the collection of outstanding customer balances to ensure account health.
Commissions & Incentives
The Regional Development Manager is eligible for a performance-based incentive plan that includes:
Monthly Renewal commissions for securing long-term service agreement renewals
Monthly New Business commissions for acquiring and onboarding new accounts
Quarterly bonuses based on net territory growth (new business minus lost business)
Incentives are structured to support customer retention, account expansion, and overall regional performance
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of success in customer-facing roles, particularly in account management or retention-focused sales.
Experience in the restaurant, hospitality, or beverage distribution industries is highly preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong relationship-building orientation.
Effective negotiator and problem-solver with a proactive mindset.
Organized and detail-oriented with an ability to manage multiple priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
Education & Experience
5+ years of related experience in food and beverage and/or hospitality industries preferred.
Physical Requirements
Daily travel within the assigned territory to visit clients and prospects.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
