Local, family-owned seafood market is seeking energetic full-time help to assist with our busy summer season and beyond. We are open 7 days a week so some weekend help is required, but NO LATE NIGHTS
As a Retail Seafood Associate at our Fish Market, you will be integral to delivering outstanding customer service while managing seafood inventory and sales. Your core skills in stocking, cash handling, and communication will ensure a smooth shopping experience for our customers. With premium skills in merchandising and displaying fresh fish and shellfish, you will enhance product visibility and promote seafood offerings. A valid driver's license is required for this role, as you may assist with deliveries. Join our team and contribute to a vibrant retail environment focused on quality and customer satisfaction.
Retail experience is preferred. Knowledge of seafood & fish-cutting is helpful, but not essential, as we will provide on-the-job training. A driver's license/reliable transportation is required. Minimum age for employment is 18.
Job duties will include, but are not limited to :
Daily set-up (AM) and break-down (PM) of the fish cases and product displays
Some light food-prep/cooking: sandwiches, chowders, etc.
Answering phones and taking customer orders
Greeting and assisting customers with product selection
Cashiering and bagging goods for customers
Restocking products & keeping up with cleanliness of the store
Some fish cutting (don't be intimidated we will train!) including skinning fillets, portioning, etc.
You will be expected to:
Have a positive, friendly attitude
Work well in a team environment
Have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Remain standing for an entire 10 hour shift
Work at least 1 weekend day on a set schedule
