Exciting Opportunity for a Board-Certified Rheumatologist in Jackson, MI Join a Leading Medical Team as a Locum Physician

Overview:

Henry Ford Jackson is actively seeking a highly qualified, Board-Certified Rheumatologist with fellowship training to provide essential adult and geriatric care in a dynamic clinical setting. As a vital member of our team, you will offer specialized services including joint aspirations and injections, supported by experienced medical staff, to deliver exceptional patient care. Required Skills:

• Valid medical license and Board Certification in Rheumatology
• Fellowship training in Rheumatology
• Proven proficiency in adult and geriatric patient care
• Experience performing joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections
• Strong skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, and management
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
• Proficiency in Epic EMR system
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle a patient load of approximately 16-18 patients daily in clinic and manage hospital-based cases

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience in Level 2 trauma settings
• Familiarity with hospital-based procedures and hospital call responsibilities
• Additional certifications relevant to rheumatology or patient care

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
• Completion of fellowship in Rheumatology
• At least 2 years of post-fellowship clinical experience
• Previous locum or temporary healthcare role preferred but not required

Other Requirements:

• Availability to start as soon as credentialed, with an anticipated start date around February 1, 2026
• Credentialing timeframe of approximately 90-120 days
• Willingness to travel and accept reimbursement for travel expenses if outside local area
• Commitment to providing quality care during two weeks of hospital call per month (1:2 ratio)
• Compliance with all applicable licensing, certification, and healthcare regulations
