Diamond Tours, Inc., a National Tour Operator, is hiring! We are seeking Destination Managers to meet, greet and manage multi-day Motorcoach Tours. This posting is for a seasonal role, approximately 3.5 months per year. If you are interested in full-time work, we have a posting available on Indeed (in Mackinaw City) for a full-time role that requires consistent out-of-state travel.
We offer a robust salary for this job of $200 per day (per diem, 4-6 days per week), and your expenses are paid as well. This includes meals, uniform, dry cleaning, car rental, gas, cell phone, and personal expenses to "look your best" as the face of the company, such as hair cuts and manicures (with a reasonable cost.) If you travel to another destination to work for Diamond Tours, your airline fees and lodging will be paid as well. If you live a distance of 45 miles or more from Mackinaw City, your lodging will be paid Monday-Thursday nights while you are working for Diamond Tours on the Mackinac program.
We also offer a collaborative work environment, the opportunity to make a difference in the world and do work you will feel good about, and long-term opportunity. Many of our Destination Managers have worked for us for decades, and we are seeking a Destination Manager who will want to work for us until you retire!
Group Tour Destination Managers are needed to work with senior citizens and church groups arriving via 55-passenger coaches for two to four consecutive nights in the Sault Ste. Marie/Mackinaw City/Mackinac Island area. There may also be some incidental phone confirmation work prior to and following your motorcoach group's arrival, via cell phone.
We anticipate you working approximately 3.5 months within a calendar year, mid-May through the end of June and mid-August through mid-October. If you have the flexibility to work in areas other than the Mackinac Island region, you may be temporarily relocated (at the company's expense) to another destination in the United States.
The responsibility of the Destination Manager is to ensure the group's multi-day tour goes as planned. You will not ride the coach with the customers, nor will you give a guided tour; you do not need special licensing. You will go through a training period with Diamond Tours before working with customers participating in our tours.
You will be overseeing anywhere from 1 to 10 senior citizen groups per week, depending on the volume of tours in a given week. The ability to be a friendly multi-tasker is required.
Primary job duties include greeting customers upon arrival, confirming vendors (hotels, restaurants, and attractions) prior to the group's arrival at the activity, providing assistance for any challenges that may arise on site, communicating any challenges to the Diamond Tours office, sending photos of buses to the Diamond Tours office via text message, and providing exceptional customer service.
