Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling complex personal injury cases from intake through trial or settlement. This role requires excellent litigation, negotiation, and client advocacy skills, with a proven track record of favorable case results.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a full caseload of personal injury matters, including auto accidents, premises liability, nursing home negligence, Medical Malpractice, and wrongful death claims.
Conduct all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, motions, discovery, depositions, court appearances, mediations, and trial.
Develop case strategies, evaluate settlement value, and provide legal counsel to clients on their rights and legal options.
Lead and supervise paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff in case preparation and management.
Engage in settlement negotiations with opposing counsel and insurance companies.
Represent clients in state and federal courts, arbitration proceedings, and mediations.
Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, motions, discovery responses, and trial briefs.
Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure high-quality service and legal guidance.
Stay current with relevant laws, court decisions, and industry trends affecting personal injury litigation.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in New Mexico and in good standing.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in personal injury litigation.
Proven trial experience with a track record of successful outcomes.
Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
Ability to manage high-volume caseloads while delivering quality results.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively.
Client-focused with a commitment to ethical legal practice.
Preferred:
Bilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish) a plus.
Experience with case management software (e.g., Clio, Smart Advocate).
