Gold Coast GeoServices, Inc. is a full service consulting firm specializing in the fields of engineering geology and soils engineering. Since our inception in 1991, we have served as geologic and/or geotechnical consultant on over 3,000 projects in southern California. Our office is located in Camarillo, California. The majority of our project sites are within Ventura County, Los Angeles County, and Santa Barbara County.
We are seeking an experienced field and soils laboratory technician to be an integral member of our talented team of professionals. Part time or possible full time employment for qualified candidate.
The position requires that you be in good physical condition for light manual labor tasks and field work in hillside environments. The following qualifications are required for consideration:
Prior work experience in soil testing / soils engineering / engineering geology or related fields
Experience in soil lab testing (describing soil characteristics, moisture and density tests, maximum density, expansion index, consolidation, direct shear test, corrosion testing, sieve analysis and hydrometer, Specific Gravity, Atterberg Limits, and Sand Equivalent Test)
Knowledge of percolation testing and infiltration testing procedures and accomplished in conducting field percolation tests and infiltration tests
Computer proficient
Organized, detail oriented, reliable, and possess math and science skills
Good communication and project/task management skills
Must possess a valid California driver license and clean driving record
Salary is commensurate with experience.
Local candidates ONLY (currently living in or near Ventura County). Must be authorized to work in the United States.
