About the Job:
Fortis College in Richmond VA is currently seeking a Surgical Technology Instructor to join our campus and join our ST program. In this role, you would be an integral member of our Surgical Technology program, helping to train the next generation of Surgical Technologists/Technicians.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Surgical Technology Program Director
Ensure student learning and mastery of course/program learning outcomes as defined in the curriculum and course syllabi
Participate/lead faculty meetings, Advisory Board meetings, and graduation
Build, foster, and maintain relationships with clinical sites
Assist with student recruitment and graduate placement activities
Qualifications:
Associate degree preferred, diploma or certificate of completion from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Surgical Technology/Technician program or training from an otherwise recognized training entity such as a military training program.
At least 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist
Current CST or CSFA, and CPR certifications (must be able to provide the NBSTSA certification)
Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Prior higher education/postsecondary teaching experience is preferred but not required
