Whisker is based in Auburn Hills, Michigan and Juneau, Wisconsin with 700+ passionate team members. We work in person 4+ days a week.
What You'll Do:
The Temporary Maintenance Assistant will play an important part in the successful operation of the facility. This role will ensure all areas of the facility are operating efficiently and properly by performing general maintenance duties and responsibilities inside and outside the manufacturing facility.
This position is temporary in nature and is expected to conclude after 3 months. Can be part-time or full-time hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:
Performs routine inspections and preventive maintenance of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, lighting, HVAC, and general facility components
Conducts regular checks on facility fixtures, furniture, and equipment to ensure functionality and safety
Carries out scheduled maintenance tasks such as filter replacements, lubrication of moving parts, and system testing in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
Maintains compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards
Keeps maintenance areas-including the shop, tools, and storage spaces-clean, orderly, and well-organized
Disposes of all waste materials, including hazardous substances, in a safe and responsible manner
Operates floor sweepers and scrubbers to maintain facility cleanliness as needed
Responds to basic maintenance requests and service calls promptly and efficiently
Assists with assembly and setup of shop equipment, including toolboxes, furniture, and custom engineering projects
Performs panel wiring and operates drills and other power tools as required
Supports additional maintenance and operational duties as assigned
Requirements:
What You'll Bring:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant mechanical or electrical experience and/or training.
Proficiency in basic carpentry, including the safe operation of saws and other power tools.
Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Basic data entry skills with strong attention to detail.
Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
Capable of working independently or in small teams with minimal supervision.
Able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
Demonstrates a positive and productive attitude, contributing to a collaborative work culture.
Self-motivated with a high level of initiative; able to motivate others when needed.
Flexibility to work first, second, or third shifts, including weekends, to meet project deadlines.
Not Required but Nice to Have!
Pet ownership is not required-but highly recommended for animal lovers in our pet-friendly environment!
Familiarity with CNC machine operation is a plus.
Experience with panel wiring or electrical assembly is a plus.
