Job Description
The Transmission & Distribution (T&D) Superintendent is responsible for field operations on the assigned project(s) to ensure safe, timely, and profitable completion. This includes planning, organizing, and supervising construction activities for assigned areas of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and supervise construction work on T&D-related activities, including high voltage transmission lines, structures (steel and wood), drilled piers, footings, grounding, substation equipment, structures, electrical and controls.
Ensure construction scheduling and continuity of job progress.
Oversee all aspects of field construction: safety, productivity, materials and equipment usage, materials management, scheduling, engineering, and contract performance.
Ensure subcontractor compliance with contractual agreements related to T&D.
Build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
Collaborate with project management to implement procedures, standards, and documentation.
Review site-specific safety documents, Pre-Task Analysis (PTAs), and Task Safety Observations (TSOs).
Complete daily reports and photos to document progress.
Assess future activities via subcontractor 3-week lookahead schedules.
Develop as-built drawings and respond to RFIs with assistance as needed.
Track subcontractor progress and ensure alignment with project schedules.
Confirm specification compliance of material deliveries and coordinate storage and maintenance.
Coordinate with QA/QC Manager on welder qualifications and equipment alignment.
Walk down systems before, during, and after hydrostatic testing; sign off system tests.
Create punch lists for incomplete or non-compliant work.
Ensure latest drawing revisions are used onsite.
Understand and execute project scope and manage change orders accordingly.
Supervise craft staffing and site material/tool management.
Provide field construction oversight in accordance with company policies and standards.
Read and interpret isometric, structural, and P&ID drawings.
Perform other assigned duties and comply with all company policies and standards.
Requirements
Education & Experience (One of the following is required):
Bachelor's Degree with 7 years in construction management or T&D craft supervision
Associate Degree with 9 years in construction management or T&D craft supervision
High School Diploma/GED with 11 years in construction management or T&D craft supervision
Additional Requirements:
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Strong background in safety protocols
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite
Must meet company driving requirements
