Mastagni Holstedt APC is actively seeking a highly qualified attorney to join its growing Workers' Compensation practice in Sacramento. The ideal candidate will have at minimum one (1) year of relevant legal experience.

The ideal candidate will have outstanding credentials and qualifications demonstrating a strong ability to analyze complex issues and devise practical solutions.

About Our Firm

For decades, we have served clients throughout California in matters related to workers' compensation, civil litigation, automobile accidents, medical malpractice, criminal defense and labor and employment, among other areas. Our workers' compensation attorneys work together to provide exemplary and timely assistance to injured workers from the onset of a case through litigation and appeal.

We represent injured workers from varied industries including public safety (police, fire, corrections, university police), food and beverage (e.g., grocery stores like Safeway, members of UFCW8), utility workers, teachers, information technology specialists, classified and court professionals, and other workers in both the private and public sectors. We are the largest firm in Northern California that represents injured workers, and we have significant experience representing public employees who have suffered serious or catastrophic injuries in the line of duty, as well as private sector employees injured on the job.

Essential Requirements:

Juris Doctor (J.D.)
Licensed by and in good standing with the California bar.
Ability to understand and evaluate medical records and med-legal reports.
Relevant litigation experience (1 year minimum). Familiarity with insurance and workers' compensation law preferred.
Ability to independently manage caseload under supervision by senior attorneys and ability to stay abreast of deadlines.

Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive representation of applicants in workers' compensation matters and manage cases to resolution.
Appear before workers' compensation boards as required, draft and prepare legal documents and motions, draft letters to clients, opposing counsel, and insurance carriers, draft and respond to demand letters, take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, draft and negotiate settlements, trial preparation as needed.
Provide comprehensive legal advice and analysis on legal rights and defenses to clients in an effective and timely manner.
Conduct legal research and factual investigation to prepare legal documents and develop strategies.
Collaborate with Workers' Compensation staff to the extent necessary to achieve a high standard of excellence when serving clients.
Attend client events as requested.
Stay up-to-date with the latest legal developments affecting workers' compensation law and compose bulletin articles related to the latest legal developments as requested.
Other duties as assigned.

Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year. Salary commensurate with experience.
