Shift/Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Job Summary:
The Data Center Technician will support a busy and fast-paced data center environment by performing rack & stack, structured cabling, and equipment installation tasks. The technician will play a key role in ensuring operational readiness and infrastructure quality, with hands-on responsibilities ranging from cable dressing to asset tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform rack & stack activities and structured cabling between server/network cabinets.
Install, test, label, and dress both fiber and copper cabling.
Terminate copper cables and reboot devices as required.
Use Fluke cable testers to validate infrastructure (preferred).
Work on ladders (up to 12 feet) to route cables in overhead trays.
Lift and install equipment (over 50 lbs) using team lifts and tools.
Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients as needed.
Maintain accurate inventory and asset tracking.
Assist in shipping and receiving of data center equipment.
Support a collaborative and safety-first work culture.
Required Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience working in a data center performing hands-on technical work.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
Customer service or client interaction experience.
Experience using DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) tools.
Familiarity with Fluke testers and troubleshooting.
Tenure in physically demanding technical roles.
Required Skills:
Teachability and a strong positive attitude.
Ability to work independently and in teams.
Strong attention to detail and adaptability in high-pressure settings.
Preferred Skills:
Outside IT or infrastructure certifications.
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Additional Skills:
Comfortable working at height on ladders.
Able to lift equipment safely using assistive tools.
Not ideal for candidates with a senior team management focus.
