Underground Contractors, Inc., a fiber conduit construction company, is seeking experienced Underground Foremen to be a part of our Toledo, Ohio team. This position will be responsible for running a variety of equipment such as Directional Bore Machine, Excavator, Forklift, Dump truck, etc. This position has a focus on safety at all times, is able to read and understand prints, as well as follow company policies and procedures related to safety. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding underground distribution systems. Telecommunication and/or Construction experience is preferred, but not mandatory. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrated ability to keep crews on schedule;
Organizing materials, equipment, and labor;
Verifying locates and materials;
Working knowledge of telecommunications industry, engineering work prints, ability to understand and interpret construction documents;
Experience working in both standard and high-risk areas, such as areas with live utilities, as well as knowledge of utility depths and placement;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Flexible and work under pressure to meet assigned deadlines;
Detail oriented w/ strong problem-solving skills;
Ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs.;
Occasional overnight travel may be required;
Other duties as assigned;
Valid CDLA w/air brake no restrictions required
Candidates are subject to pre-placement drug screening and criminal background check.
