Electrical Designer
SCS Technologies is seeking a sharp, experienced Electrical Designer for a hybrid role based in either the Greater Houston or Midland area. You will be producing detailed electrical drawings, 3D layouts, and instrumentation system designs, often collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and external partners to deliver fully integrated solutions. You will manage projects from initial design through to manufacturing, including the development and production of LACT units and metering skids for the oil measurement industry. Your role will also include ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications, conducting field surveys to validate design requirements, supporting equipment troubleshooting and maintenance efforts, and coordinating with procurement and fabrication teams to align design objectives with production capabilities.

To succeed as the Electrical Designer, you should have:
High school diploma or equivalent required; accredited 4-year degree in a related field preferred.
At least 2 years of relevant experience, ideally in the energy, industrial, or environmental sectors, with a focus on electrical panel design.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word & Excel); strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation design standards, codes, and specifications.
Demonstrated ability to design E&I panels, interpret customer requirements, and produce technical drawings and documentation.
Solid teamwork, vendor coordination, and problem-solving skills; capable of contributing in a cross-functional, project-driven environment.
Your responsibilities as the Electrical Designer will include:
Develop, organize, and maintain project documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with specifications and industry standards.
Review and revise technical drawings, including checking for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to cited codes and client requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams and clients, participating in project meetings and conference calls to support ongoing project coordination.
Monitor project progress through production, gathering required information, and making updates as needed to support successful execution.
Adhere to company safety procedures and work a standard 8-5 schedule, with flexibility for extended hours when project demands arise.
