Job Summary:
Blytheville Public Schools is seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Geometry Teacher to join our secondary education team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mathematical concepts and instructional strategies to help students build foundational and advanced geometry skills. This teacher will create an engaging learning environment that supports student achievement, critical thinking, and academic growth.
Responsibilities:
Deliver standards-based instruction in Geometry to high school students.
Create a classroom environment that is safe, supportive, and academically rigorous.
Develop lesson plans that incorporate technology, real-world applications, and cross-curricular connections.
Assess student performance through a variety of formative and summative measures.
Guide students in developing problem-solving, reasoning, and analytical skills.
Establish and maintain positive classroom relationships to promote student engagement and accountability.
Communicate regularly with families, staff, and support personnel regarding student progress.
Participate in school and district professional development initiatives.
Collaborate with content and grade-level teams to align instruction and support student achievement.
Support the mission and goals of Blytheville Public Schools through high expectations and integrity.
Qualifications:
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field from an accredited college or university.
Licensure: Valid Arkansas Teaching Certificate or the ability to obtain one with appropriate mathematics endorsement(s).
Demonstrated belief that all students can learn and achieve.
Excellent attendance record and oral/written communication skills.
Understanding and application of best instructional practices in secondary math education.
Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to student success.
Professional verification of successful teaching performance and/or student teaching.
Compliance with the ethical standards set by the Arkansas State Board of Education.
Proven ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
Willingness and commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
Work Schedule:
190 Day Contract

Responsibilities
Developing students' cognitive capacity and respect for learning
Positively fostering students' self-esteem
Working with and understanding a diverse student population
Integration of leadership, technology, and communication into the curriculum
Planning for and guiding the learning process to help students achieve program objectives
Maintaining a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning
Implementing useful diagnostic and progress assessment measures
Selecting and using effective instructional methods and learning materials
Establishing a cooperative relationship with all assigned students
Maintaining open lines of communication with parents/ guardians/ staff
Engaging in professional growth activities through an ongoing program of job related knowledge and skill development
Working collaboratively to achieve the overall purpose of the school's program and support the District's vision, aims and goals
Integrating of the themes of leadership, technology, and communication with a diverse population
