Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings
- Collaborate with clients and contractors to determine project requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints and building codes to ensure compliance
- Assemble and install pipes, fittings, valves, and fixtures
- Perform pipe threading and soldering as needed
- Troubleshoot plumbing issues and provide effective solutions
- Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify potential problems
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as carpenters, to complete remodeling projects
- Provide field service for emergency repairs or maintenance requests
Qualifications:
- Journeyman/Journeywoman Plumber license or equivalent certification
- Proven experience as a plumber in both residential and commercial settings
- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating pipe lengths and angles
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations related to plumbing installations
- Familiarity with carpentry work is a plus
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
