The largest and most established estate planning and business law firm in California's Antelope and Santa Clarita Valleys is seeking a Litigation Associate to join our growing Valencia, CA office.
Established over 45 years ago and led by two CA Bar Board Certified Estate Planning Specialists and Wall Street veterans, our firm is known for delivering the highest level of client service and providing industry-leading training and professional development opportunities to our team.
This position is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented associate attorney with at least two years of relevant litigation experience. The role offers the opportunity to handle a wide range of cases, including probate and trust litigation as well as commercial disputes. We do not handle personal injury or criminal matters. No recruiters.
Responsibilities
Handle all phases of litigation under supervision of senior attorneys, including pleadings, discovery, motions, court appearances, and settlement negotiations
Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, discovery requests/responses, and correspondence
Conduct legal research and provide analysis on probate, trust, and commercial litigation issues
Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and depositions
Manage caseload efficiently while meeting deadlines and maintaining strong attention to detail
Communicate thoughtfully and professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and colleagues
Contribute to firm seminars, client education, and community outreach where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate
Has 2-3 years of relevant litigation experience, preferably in probate, trust, or business/commercial matters. General litigation experience is acceptable.
Is licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar
Possesses excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
Is highly organized, professional, and detail-oriented
Can manage multiple cases simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines under pressure
Is a pragmatic and analytical problem-solver with sound judgment
Exhibits professionalism, maturity, and a collaborative spirit
Spanish language skills are a strong plus but not required
Requirements / Preferences
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school (transcripts may be requested)
Active member of the California Bar (Required)
2+ years of litigation experience (Required)
Prior experience in probate/trust litigation or business/commercial litigation strongly preferred
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software preferred
Spanish fluency a plus

Pay: $80,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
