POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides account services to customers by accurately processing a variety of transactions (e.g., deposits, loan payments, cashing checks, savings withdrawals). Also responsible for balancing drawers, bookkeeping department functions, answering questions in person or on telephone, and referring customers to other bank services. Includes performing computer operations to update daily programs for processed transactions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required
Three to six months of work experience in customer service, cash handling experience preferred
Ability to successfully complete internal training programs around, and maintain ongoing education in: Bank operations, services and products; and policies and procedures
Ability to maintain proficiency in computer operations and software relevant to job responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Accurately performs a variety of teller duties and customer services, such as accepting various deposits and payments; selling cashier's checks, money orders and foreign currency; processing cash advances, loan payments, and night and mail deposits; opening and closing safe deposit boxes; activating and closing debit cards; counting coins, etc.
Accurately performs a variety of bookkeeping services, such as assisting customers with balances, transfers, stop-payments and online banking
With each customer interaction in person and on the phone, seeks opportunities to deliver excellent customer service, troubleshoot, and solve account problems
Perform computer program operations efficiently and accurately
Consistently follows procedures and standards for balancing drawers, maintaining prescribed cash limits, and money handling

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is required to stand for long periods of time, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to view the computer for long periods of time. Employee must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
