About Us:
At Home Care Powered by AUAF, we're more than just a non-profit-we're a community of passionate individuals dedicated to helping seniors live independently and comfortably in the comfort of their own homes. For many years we've been on a mission to bring joy, companionship, and meaningful support to the people we serve, and we believe that creativity plays a big part in making life richer.
The Opportunity:
We're looking for a Part-Time Polish Speaking Art Teacher to join our vibrant team! As an Art Teacher, you'll have the chance to inspire and empower participants to tap into their creative potential, fostering a sense of self-expression, joy, and confidence. You'll be responsible for designing fun, engaging art classes that connect with people's individual interests and abilities, all while creating a warm, welcoming environment where everyone feels supported.
What You'll Do:
Design Fun, Inspiring Art Lessons: You'll create art projects that spark creativity, using a variety of mediums like painting, drawing, sculpting, and crafts. Whether it's a simple craft or a more complex art form, your lessons will be tailored to fit the unique needs and interests of our participants.
Teach with Passion and Patience: Share your expertise in different art techniques while adapting to different skill levels and backgrounds. Your role is to make art accessible and fun for everyone, helping participants grow at their own pace.
Create a Safe, Supportive Space: You'll foster an environment where participants feel comfortable exploring their creativity, making mistakes, and celebrating their artistic accomplishments.
Manage Materials and Workspace: Keep supplies organized, set up for each class, and ensure everything is cleaned up afterward. You may also help with ordering materials as needed.
Promote the Power of Art: Advocate for the therapeutic and personal benefits of art, showing how creative expression can improve well-being and bring people together.
Flexibility and Travel: This role requires some flexibility in hours, with occasional evening, weekend, or off-site teaching. Your ability to travel to various locations ensures that we can provide opportunities for creativity to all our participants!
Additional Responsibilities: As part of our team, you'll work closely with the Polish Public Relations Manager and support any other art-related initiatives that come up.
What We're Looking For:
Previous Experience: You have a background in teaching art, particularly in community settings or with diverse populations.
Creative Expertise: You have skills in a variety of art forms and techniques, and a passion for teaching others to discover their own creativity.
Strong Communication Skills: You connect well with others, adapt your teaching to meet different needs, and always bring a positive, patient attitude.
Team Player: You enjoy working as part of a team and are eager to collaborate with others to bring out the best in our participants.
Why Join Us?
At Home Care Powered by AUAF, we value each and every member of our team, and we believe in creating a culture of respect, support, and collaboration. This position isn't just about teaching-it's about making a meaningful difference in people's lives. If you're someone who is passionate about art and community and loves the idea of working with seniors to help them discover new talents and ways of expressing themselves, we'd love to meet you!
