About us
Little Prince of Oregon Nursery is located in Oregon's Willamette Valley just south of the Portland metro area. We began in 1997 growing groundcovers and shrubs. Over the past 20 years, our product brands have grown to include succulents, ferns, herbaceous perennials, grasses, rare and unusual perennials, tropicals, and recently a new line of unusual houseplants. Within these brands, we have over 2000 varieties!
Responsibilities:
Work with a variety of plants including perennials, succulents, ferns, and tropicals
Must have knowledge and experience commercially propagating a variety of plant material including seed, cuttings, and TC
Responsible for irrigation, fertilization, plant maintenance, cleaning, and sanitation our young plant program
Maintain assigned stock plants and propagation of stock plants
Follow crop directions, including watering techniques, from Head Grower
Ability to monitor EC/pH and report to Head Grower
Maintain up-to-date crop records
Stay up to date on growing techniques and cultural methods for the various genera of plants within your section, as well as researching issues and techniques
Able to apply chemicals in a safe manner
Flexibility and willingness to work longer hours seasonally
Team-oriented and willing to help in other departments when needed
Excellent communication and seeks guidance when needed
Self-motivated, able to work with minimal direction and manages time well
Punctual and reliable
Promote a safe work environment while following all safety policies
Duties are subject to change at any time per management's discretion
Qualifications:
2-year degree in Horticulture with a minimum of 1 year experience with propagation, or the equivalent in work experience
Knowledge of plant identification, as well as the ability to recognize issues
Experience with propagation, growing liners and young plants
Knowledge or interest in IPM
A private pesticide applicator's license, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months
Understands the language of watering
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, or has the ability and willingness to learn
Physical Requirements:
Work long hours as needed, including one weekend day seasonally
Work in a variety of climates, including seasonal temperatures and heat
Lift up to 50 pounds
Continuously stand, walk, bend, kneel, and squat for long periods of time

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
