Job Summary:
The Ready Mix Truck Driver is responsible for operating a concrete mixer truck, block truck, or dump truck to deliver ready-mix concrete to job sites. The driver will ensure safe and timely transportation, maintain the truck in good condition, and provide excellent customer service. This role requires a focus on safety, efficiency, and the ability to follow delivery schedules accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate a ready-mix concrete truck to deliver fresh concrete to construction sites, following specific delivery instructions.
Ensure accurate and timely deliveries within scheduled windows.
Maintain knowledge of safe driving practices and comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Verify the correct concrete mix and load as per customer orders.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working order.
Clean and maintain the truck, including the mixer drum, to ensure proper functionality and to prevent concrete build-up.
Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents immediately to management.
Communicate with dispatcher or plant operator to confirm delivery details and report any issues during transport.
Adhere to all environmental, safety, and health regulations at all times.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery tickets and mileage logs.
Assist with the loading of concrete at the plant when needed.
Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with job site personnel and ensure that concrete is delivered as per specifications.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Minimum of 3 years of experience driving heavy-duty trucks, with a preference for experience with mixer trucks or similar equipment.
Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and routes.
Ability to perform basic truck maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues.
Ability to work in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, such as loading and unloading materials.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers and co-workers.
Ability to work independently and follow delivery schedules accurately.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to sit for extended periods while operating the vehicle.
Ability to climb in and out of the truck and walk on uneven ground at delivery sites.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $29.28 - $36.60 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 16 per week
